1/6 PLATE DAGUERREOTYPE OF SMILING YOUNG WOMAN BY PIERRE-LOUIS PIERSON, PARIS.
This 1/6 plate (I did not disassemble package) daguerreotype is of a smiling young woman. The packaged image has a mostly intact label for daguerreian photographer Pierson. This is Pierre-Louis Pierson, 1822-1913, who had a studio in Paris, France, starting in 1844. There is gold tinting to the woman's jewelry. The condition as seen through the glass is good. There is tarnish to the edges. The painted glass mat is intact. It is in what looks to be the original ebonized wooden frame. Outside frame dimensions are 7.5 inches X 8.25 inches.
