Why purchase this triangular-shaped 2021 Zeewijk Shipwreck antiqued silver coin?
The fourth and final release of the Royal Australian Mint's Shipwreck series is an homage to the Zeewijk, an 18th-century Dutch East India Company ship that wrecked off the coast of Western Australia in June 1727. The surviving crew built a new vessel, the Sloepie, from salvaged materials and local timber, and completed their journey to Batavia with the original cargo of more than 315,000 guilders in April 1728.
The 2021 Zeewijk Shipwreck coin is triangular-shaped, containing 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.
The coin features a dramatic hand-applied antiqued finish!
Mintage is limited to only 1,000 coins.
Innovative Shipwreck Imagery
Obverse: The Zeewijk's crew is illustrated constructing the Sloepie on the obverse, beside the finished vessel embarking on its voyage, as onlookers wave from the dock. The remnants of the Zeewijk appear in the background, beneath the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II created by The Royal Mint sculptor Jody Clark in 2015. Inscriptions include "ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 2021" and "ONE DOLLAR."
Reverse: The reverse features the Zeewijk at full sail surrounded by nautical themed elements, with the logo for the Dutch East India Company above. When the ingeniously designed coin is rotated, the ship is depicted capsized under the surface of the ocean, beneath the inscriptions "ZEEWIJK," "1oz .999 Ag" and "1727."

If the product is not returned with all original packaging and bonus items, is incomplete, or is returned after the 30-day return period, the Company reserves the right not to accept the return or to accept the return subject to a 20% restocking fee, in the Company's sole discretion.
