The 2021 dated release of the Perth Mint's Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle series features the sixth rendition of the majestic bird to be designed by John Mercanti, the former 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. This high relief example of the series represents a first for the Mint, an Enhanced Reverse Proof finish. This finish differs from that of a traditional reverse proof, as the mirrored design elements are treated with aesthetically placed frosted accents, which lend breathtaking depth and dimension to the imagery.
This Enhanced Reverse Proof 2021-P Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle coin contains 1 Troy oz. of .9999 fine silver.
The 32.60 mm diameter dollar denomination coin is struck with an incredible high relief design.
The coin features a designer signed Australian themed certification label.
The perfectly graded coin includes the original Perth Mint packaging and Authenticity Certificate.

Stunning Bird of Prey Design
Obverse: Sculptor Jody Clark's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is centered on the obverse. The portrait is surrounded by the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II," "AUSTRALIA" and "1 DOLLAR." Mr. Clark is notably the first employee of Great Britain's Royal Mint to craft a definitive monarch coinage portrait in more than one hundred years.
Reverse: The 2020 design illustrated the Wedge-Tailed Eagle preparing to grasp its chosen prey. The 2021 reverse design depicts the eagle in the next moment, as the triumphant hunter focuses its gaze on the struggling snake in its grip. Inscriptions include "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE," "2021 1 OZ 9999 SILVER" and the Mint mark "P."

This 2021-P Australian Silver Wedge-Tailed Eagle coin was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) for review and judged to be in perfect Reverse Proof 70 condition, and also received the First Releases (FR) designation. The High Relief Enhanced Reverse Proof silver dollar is sealed in a NGC white core protective holder with an Australian flag style certification label signed by John Mercanti. The graded coin is presented in a Mint branded box accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity issued by the Perth Mint.
