Up for your consideration today is this delightful set by Haut Melton. The felt dolls are detailed after the book "The Most Wonderful Gift." The book is written by Martha Haut Melton and the illustrations are by her husband, J Kent Melton. The story centers around two sisters Ernestine Louise and Marien and their little doll, Louise. Such an endearing story of the two sisters and their little doll Louise. Ernestine and Marien stand approximately 19.5" tall and little Louise stands approximately 10 inches tall. What you also receive with this set, which did not come with the original set are little small dolls depicting each one by "Kids At Heart." The felt dolls come with their original boxes and are all matching numbers, which are 44 out of an edition of 250 for Marien and Ernestine and edition of 500 for Louise. Marien and Louise both have hang tags signed by Martha Haut Melton, but I did not find one for Ernastine. Ernastine's dress has one dark spot on it and all their hair is a little mussed, due to being in their boxes for so many years. This is a set that is rarely found all together and matching numbers. There is one set on another website priced at 95.00, but you get this set for much less. It's time someone displayed this adorable set instead of them sitting in their boxes. The cost to mail these will be very costly, due to the size of the original boxes, but will only charge a portion of the cost of shipping. Most likely will be sent parcel post, but I will just have to wait and see what the difference is in the costs. They will be fully insured and will require signature confirmation. Someone will be very lucky to get this adorable set by the ever popular Haut Melton, which is no longer in business. These are circa 1996. Hard to imagine that they are already 25 years old!
