    Description

    RETAINS ORIGINAL LABEL. On the back: "Daguerreotyp Portraits von J. F. G. Hamm. St. Pauli, Spielbudenplatz No. 26. HAMBURG."
    The man wears a stiff white collar and a big bow tie. The lady wears a vertical striped dress with a white frontispiece. They hold hands.
    The fancy design of the mat adds intrigue to the image. Also, it's nice to get a maker-marked daguerreotype.
    SIZE. Judging by the back of the package, the plate appears to be 4 x 3 1/4 inches, which is not a standard size. The frame is approximately 5 1/8 x 4 3/8 inches.
    CONDITION. Mold spider at 3:00 and another at 8:00. Yellowish brown patina and a halo of tarnish.
    APPEARANCE. Good body language. Nice package.
