    Description

EARLY OCCUPATIONAL DAGUERREOTYPE-MAN WITH QUILL PEN-1/6th PLATE-FULL LYRE CASE!!. Sensational early daguerreotype of a man holding a quill pen. Undoubtfully a writer or poet. Image is faint but still completely visible. I believe this to be pre-1845, possibly 1843 or 1844. Only my opinion. Original spine with very slight damage to outer spine. View pics. Spine does still feel strong but does have what appears to be a superficial rip in the leather. Still has latch but is missing the latch hole. Case will close completely but obviously will not latch. View pics for condition. Red silk pad is in excellent condition as well as the brass mat. Thick cover glass that does seem to have dust underneath. I have never taken this Daguerreotype photo out of the case. I don't know about the seals. Case does have wear front and back. I am almost positive that this is the original case to the photo. Shipped Priority Mail in a strong, sturdy box with the utmost care taken in packaging!!!! If you have any questions, please ask!! Offers are accepted!!
