    Description

Mid-1840's-Earlier? Man Wearing Elaborate Suit-1/6th Plate Daguerreotype. Wonderful, very early image of a man with tall black hair and very thick and long mutton chop sideburns. Pictures that I took make image look somewhat grainy. Entire image is crystal clear. In a very early Lyre case. Has strong spine, double latched, closes and opens wonderfully. Double latches close in opposite ways. Latches are tight. Very thick cover glass. Man's vest has extremely intricate design. Daguerreotype plate has no scratches or wipes. As clean as you can get. Clarity is terrific. There is tarnish around the edges of the plate. Case has wear but no damage. Well preserved for an almost 180 year old photo. Back of case is blank. Early brass mat that was originally cut slightly crooked. View all pics for condition. Shipped Priority Mail in a strong, sturdy box with utmost care used in packaging!! Shipped same day as payment clears. If you have any questions, please ask!! Offers accepted!!
