    Description

    Rare 29" x 25" uncut sheet of 24 tobacco silks featuring bathing beauties at famous USA beaches. There are 6 different girls (4 of each one). The beaches named are as follows: Ormond Beach, Cape May, Narragansett, Nantucket, Atlantic City and Monmouth Beach. Each individual silk measures about 6" x 5". They are marked "Factory no 649...1st Dist....State Of N.Y." on the top and "L-1 thru L-6" on the bottom. These may have been made by The American Tobacco Company in the early 1900s. Not totally sure of that?. The condition is excellent except for 3 of the borders. Top border is uneven/frayed. The right side border is VERY uneven and frayed. The bottom border is just a little uneven and frayed and the left side border is fine. There is some light wrinkling in spots and there are horizontal & vertical fold lines in the material. See the several pictures I have attached to get a better idea on condition. I found this sheet folded in a box of tobacco items in mom's storage unit. It will be shipped folded. It would look great matted & framed!...
