A little history:
The NCR Corporation (formerly National Cash Register) is a US-based computer hardware, software and electronic company that provides products and services that enable businesses to connect, interact and transact with their customers. Its main products are self-service kiosks, point-of-sale terminals, automated teller machines, check processing systems, barcode scanners, and business consumables. They also provide IT maintenance support services. NCR had been based in Dayton, Ohio, starting in 1884, but in June 2009, the company sold most of the Dayton properties and moved its headquarters to Metro Atlanta. Currently the headquarters are in unincorporated Guinnett County, Georgia, near Duluth.
NCR was founded in 1884 and acquired by AT&T in 1991. A restructuring of AT&T in 1996 led to NCR's re-establishment on 1 January 1997 as a separate company, and involved the spin-off of Lucent Technologies from AT&T. NCR is the only AT&T spin-off company that has retained its original name—all the others have either been purchased or renamed following subsequent mergers.

No certificates are accepted unseen from a printer. No matter how much checking has been done, there is always the chance of a typographical error creeping in and causing untold financial damage to the issuer. For this reason, prior to final printing a small quantity of "specimen" certificates will be produced by the printer for final verification. These items will usually be clearly marked "specimens" either by means of overprint or perforated cancellations holes. In some cases they can be further identified by a "0000" serial number.
